Only Today I Have Nothing to Say

Only Today I Have Nothing to Say

Yesterday I caught a wave of hope
Yesterday lights twinkled for me
Music found my ears
Even the rain fell only to refresh my face

Today I awoke in a hole
My world once again out of my control
My senses are waning
And I’m done with all the raining

Yesterday I heard my laugh
I even wore the cute boots
And looked at vacation destinations online
Dreams that go into a cart and almost get purchased

Today I watched so much TV
and only drank coffee
And then I watched the news at 10
and vowed to never leave my house again

Yesterday I wrote a piece
full of spunk and humor
I even included a cute puppy pic
Who was I yesterday?

Only today I have nothing to say
My mind is a mess and my mood’s in the way
My senses have paled
And I feel that I’ve already failed

I think I’m ready for tomorrow.
