Wise sage speak your truth
but we will despise you for it

Stand up for what is right
and we will whisper about you in the shadows

We will ask you for your advice
and then promptly disregard your words

When you speak
we shall call you noisy

When you are silent
we shall say you are judgmental

Friends will be hard to come by for you
Enemies will line up in your wake

You will become an island
silenced and discarded

But without sages, we are lost
misguided by our comfort
